A Mid Century Modern Ericsson Swedish Ericofon one-piece ‘cobra’ rotary telephone. This blue phone features a standing handset design with a built-in rotary dial to the base. The Ericofon was the first telephone to combine the handset and dial into a single unit and sold commercially. An example of the phone is held in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City as ‘one of the most significant designs of the 20th century.’
The Ericofon telephone has been used in a number of feature films and television shows, including The Twilight Zone, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, In Like Flint, Hawaii Five-O, Mission Impossible, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Mad Men and many others.
