An oil painting on board of an abstract figural composition by American artist George Gist (b. 1942). This work features intertwined silhouetted figures enmeshed in a matrix of vibrant warm colors and geometric patterns. The work is signed to the lower left and presented in a black painted wood frame.

Gist is a professional portraitist, muralist and jazz musician (stand up base) in Pittsburgh. He painted the murals on the New Granada Theater on Central Avenue which were featured in the New York Times travel section.

Condition

- faint scratch marks and some paint loss scattered throughout composition; wear in frame includes small chips, stains, scratches, and finish loss scattered throughout.
