A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, sapphire, sky blue, tangerine, mocha, peach, ivory, carnation, wine, and celedon. The open crimson colored field features a large scale lobed pendant medallion infilled with a sapphire grounded herati design, along with deep sky blue spandrels featuring an array of floral motifs, and sprays along the edges. Framing the field is a main medallion and floral designed border, as well as florette and boteh guard borders, and meandering minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
