A cold-painted bronze sculpture titled L’Amour deisgned by Erté, published by Chalk & Vermillion and Sevenarts (Russia/France, 1892–1990). Depicted is a figure wearing a white bodysuit with a heart design on the chest. The figures arms and legs are bound by a gold tone chain. The sculpture was based on a serigraph print of the same name. The piece is signed “Erté” in mold to the back of the piece. It is incised with Erté’s signature to the base and numbered 161/375.

Roman De Tirtoff, known by the pseudonym Erté, is a Russian-born French designer who flourished in many fields including set design, fashion, and the graphic arts, spanning most of the 20th century.

Condition

- finish loss and faint scratches scattered throughout; minor stains scattered throughout; felt on base has mostly detached.
