An antique reproduction painted plaster sculpture group titled The Charity Patient after American sculptor John Rogers (1829–1904). This work features a mother holding her ill child as she speaks with an elderly physician mixing a prescription. Rogers originally created a bronze version of this work in the late 19th century to address current issues of affordable healthcare. The title of the work is inscribed in block letters to the front center of the rectangular base. ‘John Rogers / New York’ is inscribed to the top of the base in front of the figures.

Condition

- small chips and finish loss scattered throughout surface; nicks and faint scratches scattered throughout surface; dust and residue collected throughout.
