Cast-Iron Alligator Match Safe and Paperweight
Item Details
A vintage cast-iron alligator match safe and paperweight. The unpainted match safe features a removable lid lifting off to reveal a three-compartment interior for matches, cigarettes, and ashes. Also included is a polychromed paperweight with a green body, a red mouth, and white teeth. Although cast in a similar form, the back is unable to be removed. Both pieces are unmarked by the maker.

- match safe with rusting and pitting throughout; paperweight with surface wear and paint losses; green body with spots of brown; there is a later, yellow sticker on underside reading “85”.
