A 19th-century oil painting on canvas of reclining female figure. Portrayed in a Neoclassical style, this work features a semi-nude woman wrapped in a blue cloth, reading a book as she lies on the forest ground. No visible signature was found on the work. The painting is presented in a gild and gesso frame with laurel leaf motifs at the corners.

Condition

- small spots of in painting scattered throughout; heavy varnish throughout surface; craquelure throughout painting; some rubbing and paint loss along painting edges.
