Signed Roger Calhoun Horsehair Raku Vase

Item Details

A signed thrown stoneware vase with a horsehair raku finish. This vase was created by Roger Calhoun as part of FireWorks Stoneware in Mesa, Arizona. It has a bright red and coffee-colored poured raku glaze finish with horsehair; the firing technique of applying horse hair to the newly fired piece, leaving black carbon lines along the exterior. The piece is signed ‘RC’ to the underside.
