An art pottery vase. This square-sided vase is rendered in a mixture of styles. The piece begins with a wide rim and tapered neck and shoulders over a square basin, which is thinly glazed in brown/black. Each side is embellished with a bone-white ceramic applique, hand painted with blue leaves. A hand-written code on the underside reads ‘05QBY002’.
