Vintage Japanese "Butsudan" or Prayer Cabinet

Item Details

A vintage Japanese butsudan or Buddhist prayer cabinet. The cabinet is in a lacquered black wood with double doors to the front, a pair of narrow half-width drawers to the base, the two doors accented with tooled brass corner spandrels and cream tassel accents. A round gilded medallion with bas relief flying bird accents the top. The cabinet comes with prayer beads and a prayer liturgy booklet.
