An oil painting on paper by American/Australian artist Edgar M. Hatten (1929-1990). The Pointillist style piece depicts a nude figure lying down in the grass with warm light shining through the trees. It is framed behind glass with the artist’s signature to the verso.

Edgar Hatten was known for his portrayals of abstract still lifes and landscapes, with a focus on expressing mood. He was born in Wyoming and lived most of his life in Los Angeles. He taught at Swinburne College in Australia; East Los Angeles College; and Citrus College.

- dirt underneath glass; minor scuffing to surface of metal frame; tears to paper of verso.
