An antique five-piece sterling silver manicure vanity set by G. & C. Hodgetts Ltd. of Birmingham, England. The set includes a matching nail file, cuticle pusher, two sterling lidded glass vanity jars, and a nail buffer. Each piece is hallmarked and additionally marked with a Birmingham city mark, a passant fineness mark, and a 1917 date mark; except the nail buffer, which is marked with a 1918 date mark. These are presented with a pair of German-made silver-toned metal vanity scissors. The jars’ removable sterling silver lids have a total approximate weight of 0.100 ozt.
