Signed Brutalist Ethel "Eppie" Potts Handbuilt Vase with Stoneware Vase
Item Details
A signed, vintage Brutalist slab built stoneware vase by Ehtel ‘Eppie’ Potts, a prolific potter from Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a vintage thrown stoneware vase. The Potts vase has a tall, cylindrical form with an incised sun motif on each side, having an applied slab rim. It is glazed in a mottled, high fired grey, mocha and deep green glaze, and is incised ‘Kudrna’, her Czechoslovakian maiden name. Included in the selection is a vintage wheel thrown stoneware vase, having a deep, warm grey mottled high fired glaze over rib-formed abstract spiral patterning to the exterior. It has a raised, trimmed foot ring and is signed illegibly to the underside. Circa 1960s-1970s.
