A vintage hand-knotted Persian Isfahan room size rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, sapphire, ivory, powder blue, wheat, olive, and walnut. The cranberry colored field begins with a large medallion, while featuring an allover arabesque floral and foliate design with added palmettes and deep layered spandrels. The floral theme flows to the main sapphire grounded stylized herati border, as well as to the multiple floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends.
