A parian portrait plaque titled, Le General Lafayette after sculptor Pierre Jean David d’Angers (French, 1788 -1856). Round figural bas relief plaque depicts the Marquis de Lafayette (French, 1757-1834) in profile. Wording on the plaque: ‘Au General Lafayette, P. J. David, Annee 1831’. The plaque is presented on the diagonal under glass in decorative antiqued gilt shadowbox frame. It is mounted on teal fabric with a gilt wooden frame atop red silk. This plaque is a facsimile of a bronze medallion created by David.
