A hand-knotted Bakhshayesh Heriz room-size rug. This rug features a large central medallion with rectilinear leaf and floral forms, on a deep blue field with stylized palmettes and leaves. Ivory spandrels frame the main motif, and lead to repeating floral secondary borders and a main border featuring a samovar motif. It has a color palette of burnt orange, beige, ivory, sage, powder blue, mocha, evergreen, and dusty pink, with natural warp fringe and overcast selvedges.
