1930s Collected Stone Axe Artifact with 3/4 Groove

Item Details

A large stone axe in the general form of those believed by the collector to have been used by cliff dwellers, having a 3/4 groove to three sides and raised edges. The axe is documented in an old inventory list as a ‘fine specimen’ found in Sanamon Co. Illinois, 1931 (see photograph of typed page entry, a copy is included).
