Item Details
A hand-knotted Kashan area rug. This rug features a short pile with a diamond-form medallion, surrounded by a field with a shah abbasi motif in a palette of ivory, powder blue, azure, deep blue, taupe, burnt orange, olive, and yellow ochre. The main border repeats the pattern and is enclosed by sawtooth and meandering floral minor stripes. It ends in overcast selvedges with tied, natural warp fringe to both ends.
