A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This rug features a notched lozenge medallion inside a hexagonal field with stylized flowers and leaf forms in a palette of royal blue, tangerine, hazelnut, burgundy, and forest green. It has a main border of repeating florets, flanked by meandering secondary borders and ‘barber pole’ minor stripes. Ends in natural warp fringe and hand overcast selvedges.
