A Civil War era 1/6 plate ambrotype photograph of a seated military officer holding a dress sword. The officer bears uniform similar to that of early-war Charlestonians, with single breasted frock, velvet cuffs, dress epaulets, and striped trousers. Image is not painted in back of glass, but rather felt is used. The photograph is presented in gutta-percha case in a raised design with angel to the center on the cover.

- fair, image is dark, case has two small holes to the front and is hard to open.
