Finely Hand-Knotted Sino-Persian Silk Floor Mat
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Sino-Persian silk floor mat. This rug is rendered in a colorful palette of ivory, teal, rose, powder blue, yellow, tangerine, mocha, cranberry, and indigo. The ivory colored field begins with a lobed pendant medallion infilled with floral motifs, and featuring flowering vine throughout. The spandrels are grounded in teal, and each infilled with a large rosette and tulip form. Framing the field is a main leaf and blossom border, along with a pair of florette guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a silk warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
