A twentieth century hand-carved wooden mask in the Central African Vuvi style. This mask depicts a bat-like creature with pursed lips, arches brows, slits for eyes, and long ears. The hairline features a central knob and the cheeks display a gouged pattern across each side. To the sides of the mask are holes for mounting and ‘Mariatou’ is marked to the verso.
