A serigraph by American artist Harry Shokler (1896 – 1978) titled South Londonderry Vt. This piece depicts a quaint hilly New England town bordering a river with a red brick church prominently in the background. It is signed to the right corner by the artist in graphite and presented matted under glass in a distressed wood frame with hanging wire and information to verso.

Ohioan Harry Shokler was one of the first American artists to develop the technique of silkscreen printing. He worked for the Works Progress Administration (WPA) during the Great Depression, creating serigraphs and paintings of people and landscapes around New York. Shokler taught at different art schools, and published an influential book on serigraph printing, Artists Manual for Silk Screen Print Making, and was president of the National Serigraph Society.
