A Chinoiserie decorated Carlton House desk and faux bamboo chair. The wooden ‘D’ shaped desk has curved hinged compartments flanking six central drawers, with three drawers below and resting on tapered Hepplewhite style legs with spade feet. The whole with a black lacquered finish with deep antique gold-tone Asian landscape scenes and ivory-tone floral accents. Accompanying the desk is a wooden faux bamboo Chinese Chippendale chair with a canted back frame containing a geometric fretwork splat, hard seat and resting on round legs with an ‘H’ stretcher. The whole finished in black with deep antique gold-tone accents at the nodal. A loose black, tufted seat cushion is included.
