An oil painting on canvas by listed artist Husidio John Tempest, dated to the early 21st century. The work depicts an abstracted horse. The piece is signed to the lower right corner.

Tempest comes from a long line of notable and successful artists, stemming from Antonio Tempesta, circa 1600, in Florence, Italy. His father Gerard Tempest (1918 – 2009) was a student of famed Italian Surrealist Giorgio de Chirico (1888 – 1978). At the Art Students League, Tempest studied under artists John Howard Sanden (b. 1935) and Nelson Shanks (1937 – 2015). He maintained a close association with de Chirico and worked in his studio in Rome.
