A hand-knotted Heriz-style wool area rug, having a large rectilinear medallion in taupe, ivory and pale blue, with pale green and deep red accents on a central lozenge in scarlet red. The pale spandrels feature large rectilinear palmettes and stylized leaf forms in the same palette. It has carnation meander guard borders with a wide primary ‘samovar’ border alternating with large open flower heads. It has overcast selvedges with fine, dense cotton warp fringe to the ends. Located on first level of home.
