A vintage hand-knotted Chinese Peking-style carved wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cobalt, ivory, camel, sky blue, and walnut. The sculpted cobalt hued field begins with a central coin motif enclosed by floral and foliate motifs, that coordinate with the spandrels. The field also features images of books, scrolls, and tables with vases. Framing the field is an ivory grounded main flower and medallion or coin patterned border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton kilim skirt with cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
