A hand-knotted Chinese carved wool accent rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of burnt orange, goldenrod, ivory, fern, apricot, wheat, and rust. The burnt orange colored field features a sculpted central medallion infilled with vases and flowers while enclosed by foliate and butterfly motifs. The field also features more flower filled vases, baskets of fruit, along with floral and foliate motifs forming the spandrels. Framing the field is a main goldenrod grounded border designed with lotus blooms, leaves, and phoenix motifs to each corner. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton kilim skirt with cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
