Vintage Hand-Knotted Hamadan Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Hamadan wool accent rug. The rug is designed with a center field in carmine red, with a four-lobed floral medallion to the center. The remaining field contains large geometric pendants including flowers, leaves and vines symmetrically placed with burnt corner corner spandrels embellished with geometric motifs. The rug is worked in a palette of apricot, blue gray, off white, terra cotta, celadon green and taupe. Framing the filed is a main border grounded in off white with a carnation border flanked by crab guard banding. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing with a kilim skirt.
