A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, blue-violet, peach, ivory, sky blue, gold, pine, carnation, walnut, aqua, and mahogany. The curvilinear designed field begins with a crimson hued lozenge featuring an ornate layered pendant medallion with an overall floral theme that also includes sprays throughout. Enclosing the lozenge is an ivory ground with blue-violet spandrels carrying the same elaborate floral theme, and scrolling leaves along the edges. Framing the field is a main border designed with branched flowers, palmettes, and meandering leaf forms, as well as a floral meander guard border, and sawtooth minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
