A lithograph designed by Edwin Howland Blashfield, an American painter [1848 – 1936] Columbia Gives To Her Son The Accolades Of The New Chivalry Of Humanity. This piece was given in recognition to wounded solders of WWI. Edwin Howland Blashfield’s name and 1919 are in the lower right, but not in signature form, President Woodrow Wilson’s signature in is plate to the lower right. The soldier’s name is hand written under the image surface. The piece is presented without mat, under glass and set in a wood frame.

Condition

- residue, stains foxing pervasive throughout the surface; puncture mark in the upper left of surface; nicks and scratches throughout the frame; gesso is detaching from wood frame base; corner joints do not meet evenly.
