Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of cranberry, blue-violet, ivory, rose, powder blue, mocha, slate, and pale yellow. The cranberry hued field begins with two star shaped medallions with large pendants, along with a partial medallion to one end. Rectilinear designs fill the field, including floral and foliate motifs, along with hooked and branched elements. Framing the field is a main ivory grounded floral meander border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
