A hand-knotted Persian Nahavand wool long rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of indigo, crimson, rose, cobalt, carnation, sky blue, wine, clementine, and ivory. The notched indigo hued field begins with a serrated edge pendant medallion infilled with stemmed flowers and a central rosette in a rectilinear design. The notches each feature a floral arrangement, while the remaining field features other floral, animal, and human motifs. Framing the field is a main crimson grounded floral designed border with added animal motifs, along with a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
