Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz Carpet Runner
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Tabriz carpet runner. This wool pile rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of madder red, wine, olive, sapphire, rose, goldenrod, chocolate, camel, and aqua. The lozenge field features a floral pendant medallion, each end flanked by floral swags, bouquets, and vasiforms. Purling vines delineate sapphire spandrels infilled with floral motifs, while the primary border displays a carnation meander over wine. Finishing the piece are overcast selvedges and cropped wool warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
