Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, slate, wheat, carnation, sky blue, crimson, and ivory. The cranberry colored field begins with three lobed medallions each infilled with a central rosette and floral motifs, along with rectilinear designed floral sprays throughout. The field also features ivory grounded spandrels with a palmette and blooms. Framing the field is a main Hamadan border, with a series of chained minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
