A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of cranberry, sapphire, wine, sky blue, white, clementine, indigo, and putty. The lozenged cranberry colored field features a pole of three stepped diamond medallions each infilled with rectilinear designed floral motifs. The lozenge also features rows of palmettes, while being grounded by a sapphire field that features an array of peacocks, animals, rosettes, and other filler motifs. Framing the field is a main white hued stylized carnation meander border, along with a pair of boteh guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool and goat hair warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
