Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Sarouk wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a bold palette of scarlet, blue-violet, ivory, gold, sky blue, carnation, gold, fern, olive, indigo, and walnut. The scarlet colored field features an elaborately designed floral themed medallion enclosed by bouquets and flower filled vases to each end. The field also features layered spandrels with sky blue, ivory, and gold colored grounds also infilled with an array of floral motifs. Framing the field is a main blue-violet stylized herati border, along with a pair of carnation meander, and laleh abbasi guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
