A hand-knotted Persian Karaja wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of crimson, cobalt, clementine, sky blue, rose, ivory, mocha, and slate. The crimson hued field features six medallions alternating in a rectilinear and hooked hexagonal shape, along with stepped diamonds, floral motifs, and other symbols. Framing the field is a main stylized leaf and blossom border, as well as a Hamadan guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
