Hand-Knotted Persian "Herati" Accent Rug
Item Details
A Persian accent rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of rose, crimson, pink, cream, and gray. It begins with an eight-lobed central medallion grounded in cream and seeded with a pink floret. The medallion rests on a herati field incorporating stylized palmettes, leaves, flowers, and vines over rose. Framing the field are three borders, including a meandering geometric floral border over cream and a pair of serpent motif minor borders over crimson. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with wool warp fringe. Blue weft threads are visible on the underside. Unlabeled.
