A Seth Thomas 19th century mantel clock. An ogee clock that is circa 1880 and features a mahogany finish on hardwoods and veneers with a double tablet that features a reverse painted design. The case has a molded top with pale goldtone side columns and a double tablet door with the top tablet displaying a white metal face with black Roman numerals and hands, two key arbors and hand-painted pink floral spandrels. The lower tablet features a reverse painted floral design in rich colors of red, blue and white that is framed by a white scrollwork and decorative design. Other features of the clock include a classic Seth Thomas label on the interior, a brass pendulum and hammer, a cylinder weight and an 8-day time and strike movment and the clock stands on a plinth style wood base. The clock is marked ‘Seth Thomas’ on the interior.
