Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Heriz carpet runner. This wool pile rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of cochineal red, emerald, khaki gold, cobalt, sapphire, and ivory. The elongated field is centered with a chain of alternating geometric medallions and populated with eight-pointed stars, rosettes, and boteh. Framing the field are running dog and rectilinear meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a geometric herati motif over cochineal red. The rug is finished with overcast barber pole selvedges and wool warp fringe that has been reinforced. It is unlabeled.
