Hand-Knotted Persian Isfahan Wool Room Sized Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Isfahan wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, indigo, sand, powder blue, rust, walnut, and olive. The indigo colored field begins with a pendant medallion ornately designed with floral and foliate motifs, along with scrolling palmette, floral, and leafy vine-work over-populating it. The field also has sand and walnut layered spandrels infilled with coordinating motifs. Framing the field is a main indigo grounded stylized herati main border with added blossoms, along with floral meander guard, and minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
