A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai area rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of cranberry, indigo, clementine, and sapphire. It is centered with a trio of diamond medallions with pinwheel colorways, haloed by indigo and surrounded by rosettes and cruciforms. The cranberry field is populated with tree of life motifs, cruciforms, and lobed rosettes and framed by compound geometric guard borders. A wolf’s mouth pattern comprises the primary border. The rug is finished with overcast barber pole selvedges and cotton warp fringe that has been reinforced. It is unlabeled.
