Item Details

A finely hand-knotted Persian Isfahan wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, ivory, sapphire, carnation, olive, sky blue, periwinkle, gold, and burnt orange. The crimson colored field begins with a pendant medallion that coordinates with the layered sapphire, ivory, and sky blue colored spandrels. The field also features an allover design on scrolling flowering vine-work, along with palmettes. Framing the field is a main stylized sapphire grounded herati border, along with multiple floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
