Pair of Antique "Perched Eagle" U.S. Military Iron Twin Size Bed Frames
Item Details
A pair of twin size iron bed frames circa early 1900s for use in U.S. military barracks, hospitals, and schools. This set features straight top rails with curved corners, and spindle central posts with grooved cast fixtures and canopy mounting brackets to the head and footboards. Each head and footboard bears a central cast medallion depicting an perched American eagle with its wings spread, in profile to the left, above a circular spoked wheel with thirteen stars along the rim, a key crossing from the left to right and a sheathed infantry sword crossing from the right to left, meeting over the wheel. This medallion pattern is sometimes referred to as the M1904 bunk. Included in this set are two headboards and footboards with side rails.
