A vintage hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of scarlet, clementine, sapphire, charcoal, slate blue, ivory, and goldenrod. The scarlet hued lozenged field begins with a pole of three diamond medallions, each infilled with a memling gul, while accompanied by diamond, and animal head motifs. The lozenge is grounded by a sapphire color with a memling gul to each corner. Framing the field is a main clementine colored main eight pointed star border, and a pair of diagonal striped guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
