Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of crimson, slate, clementine, ivory, walnut, cobalt, and indigo. The crimson hued lozenged field begins with a central medallion flanked by horse head capped columns, along with rows of geometric motifs including tree of life, boteh, guls, and diamonds. Grounding the lozenge is a slate hue with coordinating medallions to each corner, as well as similar motifs. Framing the field as a whole is a comb edged sawtooth border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool and goat hair warp fringe to the ends.
