A hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of madder red, white, cobalt, wheat, carmine, walnut, and black. The lozenged madder red hued field begins with a hexagonal pendant medallion, while infilled and surrounded by rectilinear designed floral and foliate motifs. It is grounded by a white hued field that features coordinating spandrels, and patterns throughout. Framing the field is a wheat grounded leaf and blossom border, along with a stylized floral guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
