Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of scarlet, midnight blue, carnation, ochre, fern, white, clementine, and cranberry. The scarlet colored field features three large medallions infilled with rectilinear forms and floral motifs, along with floral and palmette motifs throughout. Framing the field is a main carnation meander border, as well as Hamadan guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
