Hand-Knotted Persian Qashqai Wool Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of crimson, indigo, ivory, clementine, wine, and slate. The crimson colored field features a pole of three diamond medallions, each infilled with a branched form, leaves, and boteh motifs. The field is notched at the edges with an indigo colored ground both featuring an array of filler motifs including bird, floral, arrow, and other symbols. Framing the field is a main quaterfoil arrow border, along with a pair of leaf and calyx borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool and goat hair warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
